Lost thoughts: film satisfaction

The satisfaction of watching a film is that eventually the film will conclude, you can guarantee the credits will role and the characters will either be devoutly in love. Alternatively the choice is a path of despair and retribution. The variation is nice, savoury or unpalatable however you choose to view it. Conveniently, the ending signifies the end to a journey. We all like ow even if a film is unpredictable, there is some semblance of a story.

With life you cannot guarantee a story or a plot. Nothing is promised or given. The satisfaction is knowing the story ends within the hour, confined to the film reel, the issues will resolve or have to fade away as the credits roll.

Accepting that life is more chaotic than a film, and often one cannot predict the next steps is part of the natural progression. At times I think we all wish we knew what was coming next, and when, and how things occur. A movie plot is comforting to the deep seated angst that lies within. Just remember life is a live action film, and the given constant in life is that time moves on. Therefore you will always move through the time and period and pain of the now eventually.

Films have a satisfying plot, end of.
